i bought my first bow, it is a parker buckhunter xp.  it seemed kind of loud and has quite a bit of vibration but what did i know, it's my first bow.  as i kept shooting it, it seemed to get louder with more and more vibration.  upon looking at it, i discovered that at full draw, the string, about two inches up from the cam is bent.  still not knowing too much about bows i figure that is what is causing the loudness and vibration.  what might cause the string to do that? it seems obvious that i need a new string but is that all that is wrong or might it be something else?

Take it to a pro shop and have it checked out for your safety and replace the string.

It could be the string, a damaged cam, loose limb or anything. Please don't shoot it any more till you get it checked out by a professional. I'd hate to think what might happen if something broke at full draw. Its already under a lot of pressure sitting still. So be careful and get it checked out. Let us know what it turns out to be, I'm curious.
