i bought some arrows and the inserts had not been glued in yet.  my thought was that i should screw my muzzy 100 broadheads into the inserts, then glue them in to where the 3 blades of the broadheads were perfectly aligned with the three fletchings.  i figured this would help the arrows fly better with the broadheads.  am i thinking this out right or am i way off?

It's a good idea, I always try to line up my broadheads with my fletching. I know sometimes that can be a not so easy task.

what happens if you use four bladed broadheads? You can`t very well lign up four blades to three fletchings can you, sorry but it doesn`t affect arrow flight that much if they`re not aligned.

Just a thought, but, you screw the broadhead into the insert, apply glue, then place into shaft, align, then wipe clean, but what if you wipe the glue onto your broadhead and as it dries it 'fixes' your tip into your shaft. You then have to heat the glue again just to remove your head if there is a blade problem or you want to switch to target tips. Just tighten them in and shoot.

i see what you are saying. i actually had a buddy do that exact same thing you are talking about and now he has three arrows that he can't take the broadheads out of.  however, the inserts that i bought aren't the ones that are glued clear down in the shaft, they cover the end of the arrow  so i didn't have that problem.  i just glued the part that was actually inserted into the shaft which left the screw in part clean.

While one would think this would have an effect on accuracy, It will not. More important is to tune your bow and arrow combination. F.O.C. , Spine, paper tuning and broadhead alignment (removing axis wobble) will lead you to increased hunting accuracy. Aligning the head will no hurt and if it makes you feel good to do it, go ahead. Just don't expect too much out of it.
