I have an older High Country Bow that was handed down to me. It's in fine shape and needs to just be restrung. I just wanted to know if anyone has any experience with High Country. I have read good and bad stuff about the brand. Also would I be better off getting a new bow and if so what is best bow for the cheapest price I'm on a Very limited budget. I just moved to Maryland and my only option right now is public land and they only allow bow hunting so I haven't bow hunted in the past and have always wanted to but now it's my only option and i'm very excited about it! Any input would ge Greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!

About the cheapest new bow you can get nowadays that is pretty decent is going to run you about $500 by the time you put stuff on it. I was in the same position and spent 510 on my Bowtech Tomkat and they come completely loaded out of the box including a hush kit, all you need is an arrrow. I went from an old Martin that was a hand me down also that was about 15 years old to it, and it seriously completely changed me as a hunter. I wouldn't ever want to take a shot over 20-25 yards but now I have a 65yard pin on it. I don't think I can shoot more than 40 where I hunt anyway but I enjoy just going out and shooting it. If you plan on spending that much I can't recommend them enough! I was talked into it by a friend and have since got 3 more of my buddies to get them. We all hunt together anyway so now we have to mark our cases to tell them apart. They love them too. If not I would see about buying a used bow and transfer the accesseries over from your other bow. You may also want to check that bow to see if it's your draw length too. Some are adjustable by up to an inch but most of them aren't and you may not be able to use it anyway???

i just borrowed a high country bow while my oneida is  sent back for repairs and it shoots pretty good.  i did notice not much let off.  it is quite and fast.  try both and pick the one that fits you best.  good luck.
