what's the differance in buck forage oates and good ol' oates bought at the feed store?if the oates are planted the way they should be planted and put a little bit of fertilizer on them they will grow and be good healthy plants.i planted some about a week ago and they are coming up pretty good for no more rain then we have had.you could plant the buck forage oates and plant a small area or buy a bag of seed oates and plant a large area for less money.

Read an article where this guy Charles Alsheimer did a studies over many years.  He siad without a doubt that Imperial whitetail clover is without a doubt the most preferred whitetail food you can plant.  I always thought that the white clover seed you buy at the feed store was the same.  But, apparently this Imperial brand stays close to the ground which deer prefer. I would think Oats would be best when it first pops out of the ground, after they mature i would'nt think they would have as much value.  Deer always prefer new growth, close to the ground.
