This      guy  and   another  coon  came running  down the  hill   with  my   squirrel in their mouth,this guy     won the  battle and  came right up to  me 3  feet away with the squirrel  when i snapped this pic.

Steve, looks like you took your limit that mornin!! Great job!! I love hunting tree rats..lol. We went last weekend, I only took 2. But got ate up with chiggers!! Wont go back till it cools off alittle more!! lol

They were tearin' up a scaly-bark hickory nut tree that morning. every one of them came out of that tree. I left before 7:00am with my limit , and there was still a couple up there cuttin on nuts as I walked away. It was one of the quickest hunts I can remember. The ticks and chiggers are really bad this year, I'm going to wait for cooler weather to go back out.

I took my two out of scaley bark hickorys also!! There going to town on them hickory nuts!!
I wanna get back out there, but just getting over the chigger bites..lol Dont wont any more of them for a long long time!!

I feel your enthusiasm, here we are in September already. Our quarry will shift from squirrels to deer in a very short time. Hang in there BJ, patience is a virtue.
