| Yesterday, May 1st, was the first day of spring turkey season here in NY. I haven't gotten a turkey in 2 years, i've had my oppurtunites and blew them. Yesterday morning i called in 3 jakes and of them wasn't as lucky as the others. They came in fast and heard them really close to my left so i was set up looking for them to come over a little hill, but didnt see anything for a few minutes until i saw their heads now to my right. they kept moving away from me to my right so before they got out of range i turned and took the shot which was my farthest on a turkey, 35-40 yards. he dropped right there.
