I'VE BEEN WANTING A BEAGLE FOR YEARS AND FINALLY BROKE DOWN AND BOUGHT ME 1 TODAY!!!! HIS NAME IS "RUGER" AND IS 8 WEEKS!!! I'LL POST PICS SOON, JUST EXCITED ABOUT GETTING MY FIRST HUNTING DOGS AND WANTED TO SHARE. ANY TRAINING SECRETS I SHOULD KNOW??

Beagles are great dogs IMO. A bit hard to potty train. Don't know anything really about teaching them to hunt. I do have one myself though. My dad has a mini beagle, and growing up they had two before him. I really like them. IMO they are good dogs.

thanks for the response, i feel the same way. i havent even had my boy a week and still cant believe how amazing he is. he's so smart to only be 8 weeks. already got him house trained, i thought was going to be the hard part but the day i brought him home he went to the front door and started barking, so i walked outside with him and he did what he had to do and ran back to the door to go back in. i got him dorito scent tracking through the house and he's picking up on that quick. cant wait til he gets a lil bigger and older to start working him in the field.

That dog is going to be what you put into him. Work Work Work!!! Get his nose on a rabbit and keep it there. You will love every minute. There is nothing better than hunting with a Beagle.
