Whats your favorite spinning reel and rod? Personally im going to have to go with the Quantum Catalyst 40 pts inshore ( slatwater series) reels so smooth and with powerpro can cast for miles. For the rod I love my star rod stellar lite 7ft costs around $180 but I can fell a fish look at my bait.

i just bought one of those shimano sieena 2500 for $30 from bass pro and this reel is awsome, comes with mostly every thing that one of the top $ shimanos comes with

Shimano Stradic 2500 on a shimano IMX graphite rod... BPS usually has them in their spring sale for $129 for the combo. A little pricey but if you have ever bass fished with a Zebco 33 and had hand cramps from reeling so much you will really apreciate a quality reel. The Ambassador 5500 is my favorite baitcaster reel by far and I think they are about 70-80 bucks for the reel but again its worth it.
