me and my uncle were coyote hunting in polk county Tennessee and found this in a ceder tree  on the edge of the field its pretty big and i was just wondering if anyone new what this was me and my uncle thinks its a nest of some sort  (this is a picture lookin up at it)

Probably a chicken hawk since it doesn't seem to be really high and they are so common... I have never seen an eagle's nest that wasn't right on a very big creek, lake, or river but that doesn't mean it's not. It's definitely a nest and I bet if you guys were to hang around it for 15 minutes or so you would find out because it would start circling and screeching at you... :)

how big is it? we have turkey vultures that make nests that are like the smallest three feet in dia.
