| So I recently baught my first fire arm, a Remington 700 SPS with stainless barrell in 270 caliber.
Me being a novice I thought I was getting a fantastic scope with a Nikon Buckmaster 3-9X40 for just about $200.
After purchasing it I've heard a lot of talk about more expensive, and much more expensive scopes than the one I have. Also I think I may be right in the major difference between a scope like mine and the more expensive ones is light transmission. I think the transmision on mine is around 91%.
Can anyone varify that statement.
What is your favorite/best scope and why? | | | |

| My favorite is my Bushnell Elite 3200 FireFly 3x9x50 and paid around $300 for it.I also have a cheaper Bushnell and several Tascos and I can tell the difference in low light conditons. I don't think I need a scope costing over a $1000 bucks. | | Tubby The God of My Rock;He Is My Sheild; And The Horn Of My Salvation 2 Samuuel,Ch 22 | |

| | I have several different guns with different scopes. Some Charles Dailys, Leupold, Simmions, Redfield, and others. My lates is a Simmons Whitetail Classic 6.5 x 20 x 50 and have to say I like it the best just because of the light transmission. This one is on a new St Rem 700 30-06. Just keep in mind if the scope is on then it realy just depends on you! | | | |

| | I also have the BM scope. I like the clarity but the fine tuning of the objective is a pain ,with the locking ring. I like thr Simmons Pro -Hunter very clear and easy focusing. I may try a Burris Full- Field I have head good reviews on these!! | | | |
