If you don't mind the cold and can do so safely..................Go for it !

That's too cold for me, for a bow hunt anyway.

If I did go out, it would be for about 10 till 2, the warmest part of the day.
And remember, deer will usually bed on southern slopes when it gets very cold to take advantage of the sun.

No it's not too cold, dress warm in layers. Start with some underarmer(to wick away moisture) and then something wool.,But no it's not too cold. I would not take my bow out though. I went Bow hunting one year it was 28 degrees out . I had an eight pt and a ten pt fighting about 25 yds away broad side. when I tried to pull my bow back I couldn't. I took it to the archery shop where I had it set up and asked him about it, he told me that the bow locked up because of the cold, and that if I would have been able to draw it back It would have shattered the limbs.

Its not to cold. I went out a few time when the temps were in the single digits. Shot a ten pointer with my bow and it was around 5 degrees that morning. Deer have to eat and drink water, they will be out.

late season the deer will bunch up. Keep one thing in mind...no matter what the weather conditions are, the deer live every day in it. It's never too hot nor too cold...too wet...too dry...etc.

The trick is to keep yourself comfortable. And no matter how big of a "tough guy" you are, when you're exposed to cold temperatures, every 30-45 minutes, try drawing back your bow. As you get exposed to extreme cold, the major muscles will start to fail as your body creeps into a hypothermic state. This happened to me a few years ago. I could draw my 70lb bow all day at room temperature. I got cold, and couldn't handle it one time...It's natural that the arms and legs get less blood flow as you get cold. Not only is that a problem for drawing a bow, but could lead to muscle failure of the legs in a deer stand. That can make falling more likely. Be careful out there.

I agree with Dakota. The deer are still out there doing their thing if it is cold and they are still huntable. Just know how all those layers are going to affect your shot.

since I've got a freezer ful of meat, I'll just stay inside and keep the walkie-talkie on in case someone needs me to come get 'em if they get a deer....

Too Cold???? Good grief. It was 10 below on Sat morning where I live. Folks were ice fishing all over the place. The wind chill was -28.  I guess it depends on where you live but I would be happy to hunt in weather that warm.

Cold, wet, windy... I'll take them all, especially when compared to hot while fighting mosquitos and rattlesnakes. Went Saturday morning down this way with a temperature steadily dropping and rain (which felt like ice), took a nice 8-point (not a bragger, but meat all the same). No one else was even hunting it appeared, but the deer were still moving. Use the weather to your advantage. One thing is for sure, you ain't killin' anything sitting on the couch.

Kinda like saying I'm too hungry to eat.....
But it really depends on you. Go if you so desire or stay home if you think you will be miserable.

The colder it is, the more calories required to maintain body heat, so it stands to reason that the deer actually may feed longer and or earlier.

The scent factor is for the hunter as well. The colder it is the harder for those deer to catch a whiff.

My .02 anyway.

Thanks

I have friends that bow hunt the late season in temps down to 20 below zero. I don't know how they do it.
I bow hunt down to about 5 degrees. Any lower than that and I have too much clothes on to be accurate. Rifle season it could be 20 below zero and I would still go. The coldest I rifle hunted in was 17 below. Shot an 8 point buck that day.

If you're not willing to hunt in the cold, then don't. Remember, if you get one, you HAVE to take care of it, you can't leave it lay because you are too cold.
