| | My favorite deer gun is a 12ga Ted Williams model 120 (Winschester model1200) sold in Sears many many years ago Its a smoothbore pump action and I shoot remingtom 1 oz sluggers in it. Most of my shots are in the woods and the open sites give me an advantage over a scoped gun. But in the wide open field I feel confident shooting 100 yds. At 100yds my slug drops 8". At 50yds its dead on. I've used this gun for 30 years now so I feel comforable using it. Its easy to care for and takes a beating each year but shoots the same way year after year. | | | |

| | Till now it has been my 7mm (22 and bow on our public land) but my girlfriend bought me a 17hmr and I cant wait to try it. I've tested it aginst some other calibers(damage, pennetration, ballistics) and i love the results I've seen so far. | | "Only perfect practice makes perfect, anything else just gets you good at being bad." | |
