hey i dont know why and it would be alot of help if any one could help figure it out but my shotgun just blew up it was just cleaned the right shell was put in it and every thing but yeah it took about 4 inches of the end

Was it a good shell or ws anything in the barrel ?If it was cleaned and the proper ammo used.The only things i can think of is maybe a bad shell or a weak place in the barel. I hope everybody is OK .

i think the shell might have been bad i was just looking at it and its kinda deformed and yeah everybody is ok there's shrapnal everywhere but nobody was hit thanx

may have been a bad shell or the barrel. I would suggest writing up what happened... take plenty of pictures and send to the manufacturer of the shells and the shotgun, one or the other should replace the shotgun... this happened to my brother 3 yrs ago, mossberg replaced the barrell at no charge.

slug, or bird shot? If it was a slug maybe the choke was too small? Just a thought
