My Dad just gave me his old deer rifle. It's a old lever action 300 savage.
I remember growing up watching him take plenty of deer with it.
My Dad used that gun for at least 50 years, and would never buy a new one.
He is now in his mid 70's and unable to get out and hunt any more.
I plan on using it as long as I can, then passing it on.
I guess my question is, does anyone know where I can go to get any info on this rifle.
I tried the Savage Arms web site but they dont have any info like that.
Even if I cant find any info, i am  from ear to ear.

May the hunting Gods be with you.

You could go to the CONTACT US area of Savage's wesite and send them a personal email. Surely someone there can give you some kind of information that you want.

I guess that won't work, I just went there and it said something about "
Email:
Due to an overwhelming request for information, we are unable to accept inquiries by email."
www.savagearms.com/contact.htm But I am sure if go to the link here and write them a letter they can answer any questions you might have. I did something like that for a product I bought 15 years ago to use when I was living in the barracks when I was in the Navy. I lost the directions for it and I could not remember how to do something on it and so I tried to find the product at the store, but it turned out they did not make the thing any more, so I did a search on the internet and found who to contact and they sent me the manual for the thing free of charge...

But I am sure that Savage would do the same thing. It wound't hurt to ask anyway...
