| Hey folks!!! I'm have been doing a lot of searching online to find bow sight ratings but everything I find has just been bias company info. I shoot a Bowtech Tomkat ant it came with a Montana Black Gold sight but I would like to have something with a level for piece of mind. I can get 3 inch groups at 40 yds but I don't always think I am level and botch the shot sometimes. But with 700 sights to pick from I'm LOST. I like the horizontal sights so I don't get a shadow since I hunt a field edge with lots of sunlight. Thanks in advace for your help!!!!!

I found his and it had the .019 pins on it but the sidewinders lx's that I found all had .029 pins. Is your's the lx shurlock edition??? | bought it last year on cabela's website...on clearance for 70 bucks if i remember right....anyway it listed for over 100.00 figured I was getting a good deal...have the original boxing and nowhere on the box does it say shurlock...for all i know now it has been discontinued at cabelas....saw one at gander mountain this year.
anyway it is a great sight and have had 0 probs with it....comes with an extention etc...
if you can find it, buy it....I am no professional but it has worked for me.

| | I've had a lot of different sights, this year I bought and installed a Trophy Ridge Matrix (Guide Series) 5 pin on my Ben Pearson Diamondback. I also bought the sight light, it's great. I love the sight, but I don't know that I needed 5 pins. I think I should have got the 3 pin model instead. Most of my shots are going to be at 40 yards, or less anyway. The sight is very bright with the .019 pins all lit up. Maybe I'll try a shot at 50 or 60 yards if I have the chance at a fat nanny. | | | |

| If you like your existing sight, have you thought of an adhesive sight level? It's a thought.

| | I put an adhesive level on the bow but the sight doesn't have any place on it to put one and it's too rounded to stick it there so now I have to look 6 inches off my pins to check it. I really like the set-up of the new toxonics 5 and 7 min micro-adjust but didn't want to drop $130 and don't know anyone that uses them? | | "Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy." | black gold makes a site level for the Dusk Devil2™ or Workhorse as per their web site: http://www.blackgoldsights.com/bow%20sight%20accessories.html
not sure if that's an option for you... | | --Dustin

| WereI you, I'd simply forget worrying over a good sight. A good sight is only as good as the user. I use a cheap sight and I can place four arrows in a three inch area at 30 yards. Four arows in a slightly bigger one at 40 yards. The problem is not a sight, but your confidence in using the one you have. If I were you, I'd get really proficient at the basic one you have. After that, if you still have problems, or want to upgrade, then I'd start my search from what you feel is lacking in your current sight. I hope you'll do well, and this helps. | | | |

| rnwinter -> i would bed to differ. a .019 site pin is a little more accurate than a .030 or .040 in my opinion. a level is what tomsinnot was initally looking for in a new site, which will improve consistency if used properly. Confident is very useful as well, but i think smaller pins and consistency though form are just as useful.
also, i have had my share of cheap sites, and the quality of the material in the site is very important, at least to me. often before i bought my current site, my older one would bend... not sure how, guessing being on the backseat of the car or laying on the ground... which always caused me to fiddle with the sites. | | --Dustin

| Oh. Sorry, I guess I didn't pick up the gist of the post. Guess I should read and understand a little better before I lay out my 2 cents worth. Thanks for calling me on that Dustin.... | | | |
