| I just read an article on ( why saturn's moon is black and white ) and now I dont know about you but I think that is a ridiculous way to spend money!!! why don't they spend that money on something to benifit people, like world hunger, or helping the poor people, or something to help, what does it matter what color the moon of saturn is? how does that affect anything? if they spent that money on other things than things like this the world would be a better place. I think this kind of waste is stupid | | Hillbilly Willy Today is the day the Lord hath made, I will rejoice and be glad in it | |

| | I agree that US government spends money on some pretty dumb things.I know we as a country should help those in need of help, but why don't we focus more of that money here. This country has plenty of things that could use more funds, such as the fight on drugs, helping our elderly, veterans and our children who are sick, starving or in need of a good home. | | Tubby The God of My Rock;He Is My Sheild; And The Horn Of My Salvation 2 Samuuel,Ch 22 | |

| | I agree. This country has much more to worry about than what color a moon is in outer space. I am sure there is a "good" reason as to why they are researching moons, but that shouldn't be on the agenda. Maybe, if this country would stop spending around 1 billion dollars a week at war, the government would be able to spend on more important problems i.e...child health care, immigration reform, rising college tuitions. This country will be better off in 2009 when we see a more productive president. | | Crystal City, Zavala County, Deep South Texas | |

| | I see your point, but I'd argue that any science has merit. Many of the optics we use hunting were developed and used for astronomy. Although very few people get to travel into space, the advances that these travels bring us do have their impacts beyond cool freeze dried stuff. I think we as society must be careful not to condemn any scientific research. Cut that program. Cut this program. Before you know it, there will be no one studying chronic wasting disease. Advances in one field of science will ultimately fuel advances in another. | | | |

| Science is important and the pursuit of knowledge is intergral to moving our society forward. Remember that at one point people said " I know the world is flat" or "I know the moon is made from cheese." It is imparative that we use or minds to question and get answers. If we didn't fund science we all wouldn't be communicating on Bucktalk via the internet. The basic concept of the WWW was developed at UofI.
Yes -- we are spending billions of $ers in Iraq. A privatized war is not a war at all but a bunch of mercenaries killing for financial gain. There are around 130,000 private soldiers in Iraq. Just think if those $billions were spent in the U.S. on schools and infrastructure.

the money should be spent on this world's problem's like feeding hungry kids or puting clothes on them or giving them a safe place to live. to me a starving child is more important than why a moon in outter space is two different colors | | Hillbilly Willy Today is the day the Lord hath made, I will rejoice and be glad in it

| i thought that is what we are doing in iraq. giving kids a safe place to live. or a woman a chance to go get groecires with out getting blown up. and yes i would rather fight there than here. if i was to think for 1 min. the man around the conner was ploting to plant a bomb and blow up the locale church. were my wife and grandkids worship.we would be there with gun in hand. so i do truly belive we are trying to make this a safer place to raise your kid's a grandkids.and that is money well spent SEMPERFI!!!! GOD BLESS ARE MEN IN THE ARMED FORCES. as for the next leader of this great country. we may be in serious trouble. and i would fight again to defend there bad choices. because this is my country. we may not want to be the worlds police but someone has to step up to the plate. and protect life and the wright to live in peace. why not us? | | | |

this is what I'm talking about spend the money on THIS WORLD'S PROBLEMS
not on looking billions of miles in outer space at a moon of another planet wondering why is is two different colors. that WILL NOT HELP ANYTHING in this world, that money is wasted.
GOD BLESS ALL OUR MILITARY FIGHTING ALL OVER THE WORLD for peace and safe place's to live I'll give my last penny to that cause. but NOT to study a moon so some scientist can say ( wow I know why it's two different colors ) I do believe science is important but STUDY THE WORLD WE LIVE ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! not something that won't help man kind. | | Hillbilly Willy Today is the day the Lord hath made, I will rejoice and be glad in it

| I agree science is important,if it weren't for the reseasrch in medicince,I might not have my hand.I also agree that spending money on what color some planets moon is ,is crazy. There are alot of kids right here in the US that could benifit from that money, also our law enforcement personnel and our men and women serving in the armed forces.Don't forget about the fire fighters There are alot of places and things here at home and around the world that needs money more than some moon in space. I say make it safe for our kids to go to school or the mall with out worriing about drugs or shootings and secure our borders. When i say secure our borders,I mean make it where if you want ot come here, you have to do it legally, everyone has the right to an opportunity for a better life. | | Tubby The God of My Rock;He Is My Sheild; And The Horn Of My Salvation 2 Samuuel,Ch 22 | |

| | ok guy's it does sound a little crazy.but are we sure it wont be a benifit to us some day, are we being short sighted in are lack of understanding why they are studing this moon. it does seam there would be better ways to spend your tax dollers, but i am just a redneck that does not always comprehend why. are gov. does what it does. the space program is over my head. lol | | | |

| | Mr. Bush isn't spending your money. He's spending the bazillion dollars the US has borrowed from China, Japan, and North Korea for iraq. Ever wonder why you see so many China produced products lately? Just my opinion. | | | |

| | I look at this way, if we do not help our country out first, evenually there will not be a country to help out the others, you have to help out your own first. | | wake me up early, be good to my dogs and teach my children to pray. | |
