Barley Leads After First Round of Top Bow

July 27, 2007 -- Greensboro, N.C.

-- It was fitting that Greensboro's own Keith Brown started off the Buckmasters Top Bow Indoor World Championship Friday evening. It is the third straight year that the Buckmasters Expo, the event that also hosts the Top Bow championship, is being held in Greensboro. But while it was a hometown man who got things going, it was another North Carolina shooter, Brown Summit's Randy Barley, who set the pace for the rest of the field, finishing the first of seven rounds of shooting with a score of 156. The Buckmasters Indoor World Championship is the highest-paying bow-shooting event in the industry, bringing together the top shooters from two previous qualifying events held earlier in the year.

In addition to the Top Bow competition, the Buckmasters Expo is one of the biggest outdoors shows in the country, complete with vendors from the top hunting and outdoors companies, deer scoring, and activities for the kids. This year's Expo runs through July 29 at the Greensboro Coliseum. One of the highlights of the show is a free members-only concert on Saturday night featuring country music stars Mark Chesnutt and David Lee Murphy.

The Top Bow competition runs throughout the weekend, with the top 40 shooters continuing on after two rounds. The field will continue to thin throughout the remaining rounds until a champion is crowned on Sunday afternoon.
