April 25 opener for NJ spring turkey season

From the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife

-- With populations restored statewide, hunters will see some of the finest turkey hunting on the East Coast when the spring season opens April 25. It runs for five weeks.

Young hunters have the first chance to harvest a bird during the Youth Turkey Hunting Day April 23. Youth hunters with a Youth License who have obtained a turkey permit may begin their spring turkey season prior to the opening of the regular season.  Youth hunters are also guaranteed a permit for the area of their choice.

Permits for most areas and periods remain available and can be purchased at license agents and online.

For more information on this year's season, including permit information, hunting area recommendations, check in requirements and more, visit on the division's website.
