From the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources
-- Hunters won't have to juggle a printed guidebook and a website when to apply for a cow elk, doe deer or doe pronghorn hunting permit. Everything needed to apply is available in one spot— http://wildlife.utah.gov/dwr/guidebooks.html.
Detailed maps, boundary descriptions, a list of available hunts, all of the information hunters need to apply and a link to the application itself are among the items you'll find online.
Applications for permits will be accepted through the website starting June 1. Applications must be received through the website no later than 11 p.m. on June 21 to be included in the draw for permits.
"Once you get used to not having a printed guidebook," says Staci Coons, "we think you'll like it. When you go to our website, you'll find lots of good information. And all of it will be available in one spot."
Coons leads the Division of Wildlife Resources team that writes and produces Utah's hunting, fishing and trapping guidebooks. For more information, call the nearest Division of Wildlife Resources office or the DWR's Salt Lake City office at (801)538-4700.
