-- Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (ADCNR) Commissioner M. Barnett Lawley signed an emergency regulation Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007 - 220-2-.22-.161ER - pertaining to Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs) and Sanctuaries Established.
This emergency action was taken in order to maximize hunting opportunities for various user groups hunting in Alabama's Lauderdale WMA.
The regulation, effective Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007, modifies the boundaries of the Lauderdale Wildlife Management Area to add an additional 1,367 acres.
The land was procured cooperatively by Alabama's Forever Wild Land Trust Program, the ADCNR Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Division, and the Alabama chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation.
