Photos of My First Wild Hog

Hometown: Festus, MO
Harvested Wild Hog: Greenville, MO
Weight: 300 pounds on hoof, 275 pounds field dressed
Distance Taken: 9.75 yard shot
Method Used: 30-06 used

My first encounter with a Wild Hog was this Wild Hog's last encounter.

She weighs on the hoof 300lbs., when field dressed 275lbs.

Myself surveying my very first harvested animal. WOW!

1st Wild Hog: 300lbs. on the hoof - 275lbs. field dressed - 30-06 from 9.75 yards away and closing

I have been so busy with the holidays and getting my hog out of the butcher shop that I haven't gotten a chance to sit back and fix up some of that fine pork yet. I plan on it real soon. I am fixing to go back down to where I took her and try to see what I see, but this time try to stick it with my bow. I'll let you know how she tastes. I am not sure if I said how much meat I got back from the butcher or not, but she yielded 100 to 130lbs. of meat. I took her with a head shot so I saved a lot of meat.

Just fixed some pork sausage from my Wild Hog. It was great. Tastes just right. I am no cook by any means, but who knows, maybe this Hog will change that too. Thought about fixing one of those 12lbs. Hams for Christmas.
