I took this nice 11 pointer Friday, November 20 at 6:30 am with my CVA Optima Pro .50 caliber. I had just gotten settled in my portable climber on the property where I live in Southern Illinois when I noticed three does running helter skelter 50 yards behind me. Then I saw a big buck chasing one of the does. She was all over the place like a pin-ball with him not far behind. I knew if I got a shot it would have to be quick. When the doe ran about 20 yards from me and the buck started up the hill, I got ready. When the muzzleloader barked, he took off like a scalded dog. I listened intently and after several seconds I heard limbs snapping as he crashed to the ground. I was only in the tree 30 minutes. I barely got to hunt but I'm not too disappointed. I unofficially scored him at 170 7/8 gross. Looks like another one for the wall.
