Let's keep this thread going all season by posting pics of your doe kills this year.
I shot this little lady (110lbs) at 6:00 pm on friday, Sept. 29. She was with 3 other does coming from a briar thicket.

10-3-2007 95 lb, 3.5 year old doe. My dad and I went on a DNR draw hunt at a local state park that has an overpopulation problem. This was the biggest of 4 does that came into the persimmon trees I was watching. Game wardens and DNR officers check every deer taken there for age, weight, and brain stem sample (CWD checks).

10-4-2007 110 lbs. 3.5 year-old doe. Same hunt at state park, following day. She was the biggest of 2 does that walked up on me while I was walking out from a torential thunderstorm. They saw the decoy in my hand and froze, giving me plenty of time to raise my crossbow and shoot this one at 10 yards!

That's a nice pile of meat mccraddock. Do you need me to pm you my address? LOL! j/k I guess those deer don't count against your total deer limit, ie bucks. |

Thanks all. I been seeing more does but have been letting them walk for now in hopes of a buck not far behind. I'm starting to find some active scrapes so the chase phase should be setting in soon. Anyone else posting here kill some does yet? Gotta fill the freezer before you worry about hanging one on the wall folks! |

Yea, two of those does are from a management hunt so they don't count towards my total of 10 allowed (5 bucks total allowed). All those does are being turned into snack sticks, half of 'em with jalepeno and cheese. Mmmmm , ever had those?
Next deer I take, buck or doe, is going into smoked bratwurst.

I know the earn-a-buck is rough on ya'll and puts alot of pressure on you, but I bet you've got a spot aleady picked out for getting that doe. Plus doe's up there pack a lot of meat. Here you're lucky to get a doe thats over 150 lbs.
Do you use a mix for your chili? I use "Shotgun Willy's chili in bag" when I'm pressed for time and don't have all day to make it from scratch.
