I was going to try it in my 30-30 but i got a 270, ive watched people use it on tv and shoot 200 - 300 yards with it, thats a big difference considering a 30-30 is a brush gun and shoots out to 150 yrds

Depending on where I'm hunting I also use a Marlin 1895 in 45-70. I use the LeverEvolution ammo in mine and I love it. Let your gun pick the ammo don't pick the ammo for your gun. Try multiple types of ammo and see which shoots the best in your gun. As I said before I have an 1895 that shoots great with it (2" groups at 100 yards) but my cousin has the same gun and can't get better than 3" groups @ 100 yds. Another example that proves my "Let the gun pick the ammo theory" is my Savage 111 in 30-06; with WInchester Ballistic Silvertips I can get groups at 200 yds I can cover with a half dollar but with Remington CoreLokt 150's I might get 4" or 5" groups if I'm lucky and there is absolutely no cross wind. Just for clarification I shoot 5 shot groups.
