I see many hunters use the 12 and 20 gauges for slug guns.  Why aren't .410 more popular?  I would imagine they would handle more like a rifle with a smaller mass - resulting in a flatter trajectory. 

I'm more curious than anything...Thanks.

In Delaware it is illegal to use a ,410 slug, In my opinion it is a little small, I htink you need at least 1000fps to make an ethical kill on a whitetail. Not sure about the ballistics, but your question is a good one!

thank you...very interesting article. Gives good history of the reasons why you don't see them often...some good and some bad reasons, but reasons all the same.
