Junior hunter field day in multiple locations June 2

Budding outdoor enthusiasts with interests in fishing, hunting, shooting sports or wildlife management can get expert guidance June 2 in Anne Arundel, Baltimore and Queen Anne’s counties during Junior Hunter Field Day.

The free events are designed for those aged 8 to 16. Online registration is required and limited. Maryland youth can register by clicking here.

Certified hunter safety instructors along with wildlife experts and professionals will provide instruction in a safe, mentored setting with all equipment being provided.

The Anne Arundel County event will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Stoney Creek Fishing and Hunting Club in Pasadena. Activities will include trap shooting, archery, target shooting with .22 rifles and hunting demonstrations. Lunch will be provided, at no cost, for all participants.

The Baltimore County field day will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Baltimore County Game and Fish Protective Association in Parkville. Activities will include waterfowl hunting and retriever demonstrations, turkey hunting demonstrations, rifle and shotgun target shooting, archery and building nest boxes. Lunch is also provided at no cost to all registered participants.

In Queen Anne’s County, the Junior Hunter Field Day will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sudlersville Skeet Club. Youth will be given the opportunity to shoot sporting clays, .22 rifles, as well as try their hand at archery. All youths will receive an event T-shirt.
