Florida hunters asked to participate in annual deer survey

By Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission

If you hunt deer in Florida and receive a call requesting your participation in a deer hunter survey, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission hopes you will take some time to do so.

The Commission has contracted with Responsive Management, a survey research firm specializing in natural resource and outdoor recreation issues, to conduct studies of Florida hunters’ participation in deer hunting.

During April and May, some Florida deer hunters may receive a phone call from Responsive Management requesting their participation in a survey about their deer hunting experiences.

Licensed hunters will be randomly selected to participate in the study to ensure it is scientifically valid.
It is important that all hunters respond because this information will help Fish and Wildlife better understand hunters’ participation, harvest, preferences, opportunities, needs and opinions.

Depending on which carrier hunters use, the call will display as coming from Responsive Management, area code 540, or unknown. Hunters also may receive an email from Responsive Management requesting participation in the survey.

Florida deer hunters who have questions about the study should contact deer.management@MyFWC.com.
