No cell service? Outdoors GA app can still check game

By Georgia Department of Natural Resources

Almost a year since its debut, the free Outdoors GA mobile app now allows users the ability to check their harvest, even when they are in an area without cell service.

“We continue to be pleased with this free mobile app that gives both novice and seasoned outdoor enthusiasts essential information in the palm of their hand,” said Rusty Garrison, director of the Wildlife Resources Division.  “The fact that it now offers a service without needing to be in cell range makes it even more beneficial, providing the opportunity for the user to go paperless.”  The primary update to the app beyond the new look and feel is that hunters can now check harvested game even without available cell service, eliminating the need to keep a paper copy of a harvest record, unless desired.

The existing app also provides quick access to Georgia rules and regulations, the ability for hunters to carry an electronic copy of their license; access to current harvest records and Georgia Game Check; geo-locating tools; and sunset/sunrise times based on GPS location.

The app also allows users to locate public fishing areas, boat ramps and wildlife management areas.

The free app can be downloaded on mobile devices through the Apple or Google Play stores by entering the words “Outdoors GA” in the search bar.
