Sept. 1 archery hunters must use Telecheck

By Nebraska Game and Parks Commission

Hunters are reminded they must check their harvested deer via Telecheck when Nebraska’s archery deer season opens Sept. 1.

The electronic checking service is available by calling (844)279-4564 or online.

All deer harvested outside the November firearm season and all antelope harvested outside the October firearm season must be checked via Telecheck.

Hunters can speed up the check by having all required ready, including species, permit number, county of kill, area of kill (public or private land), management unit, date of kill, sex and age of animal (adult or fawn), and antler width for deer. Management unit maps are on the Telecheck website and in the 2016 Big Game Guide.

After completing Telecheck, hunters should write the seal number and security code on their permit.
Antelope hunters will be asked if their animal’s longest horn is more or less than 9 1/2 inches. To determine the length, measure from the base around the outside curve to the horn tip.
