The Tension Builds

And then there were eight.

Action was intense Saturday in the Buckmasters Top Bow Indoor World Championships.

Winners were crowned for the A and B pools, and the world champion field of 24 was whittled down to the final eight.

Keith Brown from Greensboro, N.C., and Joseph Goza from Bryant, Ala., jumped ahead of previous leader Colin Boothe, Harrisonburg, La., in the quest for the world champion title, which will be decided later today.

With only eight shooters remaining, the cumulative scores no longer matter, and shooting moves to a head-to-head format.

Great Georgia Buck makes the BTR Records Book

This great Georgia buck was taken by Donald Vinson in Brooks County.

Donald brought his trophy to the Buckmasters Expo in Montgomery, Ala., to be scored for the Buckmasters Trophy Records book, and it made it by a wide margin.

Donald's buck scores an impressive 196 7/8 composite (includes spread) and will be featured in Rack Magazine in 2012.

Boothe Leads After Third Round of Top Bow Championship

Colin Boothe of Harrisonburg, La., leads the Buckmasters Top Bow Indoor World Championship after the third round of shooting concluded Friday night.

A veteran of the Buckmasters event, Boothe said he attributes his good shooting to not thinking too much.

You just have to react, he said. You cant out-think this course.

Its been an emotional tournament for Boothe thus far. His mother is in very poor health but told her son to go and beat up on everybody at the event.
