Food Plots and Supplemental Feeding

Planting in New York woods

I am looking ahead for the 2010 season.

I am considering planting a few things and I am wondering if anyone here has planted them in the woods.

I am thinking about planting : Sun Flowers ~ Peas ~Turnips as well as planting no plow clover.

Has anyone planted any of the above in the woods of New York ?

I have a small area that I am clearing so the sun will get to it and I am thinking of trying to create shmorgishborg for the deer.

I have already ordered 9 apple trees to plant and would like to plant stuff over the next few years to draw the deer in until the trees bear fruit.

ANYONE EVER TRIED PENUT BUTTER?????I SCREWED THE LID TO A TREE SCREWED THE JAR BACK TO THE LID AND CUT THE BOTTOM OFF...THE NEXT SAT I WENT BACK IT WAS GONE AND THE JAR WAS LICKED CLEAN....I AM GOING TO GET MORE TO HECK WITH THE CMERE DEER AND DEER CANE...

NY hunting

ok so NY is not known as a big buck country. however thats where I live. I have about 100 acres, but its split into 2 50 acre pieces. I do not see alot of deer on this land. This land is surrounded several thousand acres of state land. My question is this: is it worth doing a food plot on this land. I am afraid that I could spend alot of time and money doing the food plot and trying to attract deer to it. then to have none show at all or to have the deer killed by someone else.

This year my buddy back in Kentucky and I are trying out some new food plots. We have Imperial Clover going to the left hand hollow (1 acre), Mossy Oak Biologic Full Draw for the middle hollow (2 acres) and then some Tecomate Max-Attract for the right hand hollow (2 1/2 acres). Right now (thanks to the trail cam) we know they are going to the pond that is in the middle hollow (hence the Full Draw going there). It will be interesting to see if they change course any. Last year they were all in the right hand hollow because there was clover there and the pond was not much of a pond. This spring they had it bulldozed again and is one heck of a watering hole.

feeder pens

We put up some feeder pens 130' of 36" cow panels to keep cows out. Anyone have experience with using these? How do the deer like the pens?

i heard a lot about eagle soybeans and im wanting to try some but i dont want a 50 pound bag im only lookin for about 5 pounds to try out if anyone has some left over from planting i would like to buy 5 to 10 pounds and i will give you what there worth

i have heard that it is baiting a deer when you use c'mere deer and that it is not an attractant and i dont wanna get a ticket
