From Arizona Game and Fish Department
-- Arizona’s 2012-13 Hunting and Trapping regulations are now available online at www.azgfd.gov/draw.
Hunters can submit paper applications for fall hunts now, and the online application service will be available by early to mid-May.
Hunters can start applying for a hunt permit-tag issued through the drawing process for deer, fall turkey, fall javelina, bighorn sheep, fall buffalo and pheasant.
Paper applications can be submitted now either by U.S. mail to Arizona Game and Fish Department, Attn: Drawing Section, P.O. Box 74020, Phoenix, AZ 85087-1052, or hand-delivered to any Game and Fish office.
The online application service for this draw is expected to be available by early to mid-May.
The deadline to apply is Tuesday, June 12 by 7 p.m. MST.
Hunters mailing a paper application are advised to mail early; applications must be received by the deadline. Postmarks do not count.
Those submitting a paper application are encouraged to apply early to take advantage of the correction period. If a hunter’s application has an error and is received before 5 p.m. on May 25 he or she will receive up to three phone calls from Game and Fish in a 24-hour period to help correct the application. After that date, mistakes can cause the application to be rejected.
Printed 2012-13 Arizona Hunting and Trapping Regulations booklets are anticipated to be available at department offices and at license dealers statewide around mid-May.
The drawing process for elk and pronghorn antelope occurred earlier this year.
